Adam

Text traditions are manuscript families. Their numbers can differ, so each age or reign keeps its own tradition tag.
Biography
Adam is introduced when God forms the man from the dust of the ground and breathes into his nostrils the breath of life . God places him in Eden to work and keep the garden, gives the command about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and later forms Eve from his side .
Adam eats from the forbidden tree after Eve gives him the fruit, and Genesis connects that act with judgment on the ground and death returning him to dust . He names his wife Eve, and the couple is sent out from Eden before Genesis turns to their children .
The line traced here moves from Adam through Seth, born after Abel was killed . Luke's genealogy also names Adam at the head of the line that runs toward Jesus .
