Isaac

Isaac was born to Abraham and Sarah when Abraham was 100, after Yahweh had visited Sarah as he promised Genesis 21:1-7. Abraham circumcised Isaac on the 8th day as God had commanded him Genesis 21:4.

When God tested Abraham, Isaac was placed on the altar at Moriah, and the angel of Yahweh stopped Abraham before the knife fell Genesis 22:1-14. After Sarah's death, Abraham sent his servant to his kindred, and Rebekah became Isaac's wife Genesis 24:1-67.

Isaac prayed for Rebekah because she was barren, Yahweh answered him, and she conceived twins Genesis 25:20-21. Esau and Jacob were born when Isaac was 60 Genesis 25:24-26.

Yahweh appeared to Isaac during famine, told him not to go down to Egypt, promised the land and offspring sworn to Abraham, and blessed him in Gerar Genesis 26:1-6. In old age, Isaac blessed Jacob while thinking he was blessing Esau, and later confirmed that Jacob would be blessed Genesis 27:1-40. Isaac died at 180, and Esau and Jacob buried him Genesis 35:27-29.
