Biography

Ahab became king over Israel in Samaria and reigned 22 years . His reign is introduced as greater evil than the kings before him, with Baal worship tied to his marriage to Jezebel and to the altar and house of Baal in Samaria .

The drought announced by Elijah falls within Ahab's reign, and the Carmel confrontation ends with the people confessing that Yahweh is God . Later, the vineyard of Naboth becomes the setting for judgment against Ahab's house after Naboth is killed and Ahab takes the vineyard .

Ahab died after being wounded at Ramoth Gilead, and his blood was washed from the chariot at Samaria . He belongs to the northern kingdom line and is not in the parsed line to Jesus.
