Hagar: Genesis 16:3 calls Hagar a wife; later passages call her a bondwoman and place her among Abraham's concubines.

Keturah: Genesis 25:1 calls Keturah a wife; 1 Chronicles 1:32 calls her Abraham's concubine.

Biography

Abram was called to leave his country, kindred, and father's house, with a promise that Yahweh would make him a great nation and bless all families of the earth through him . His name later became Abraham when God made a covenant with him and promised that he would be the father of a multitude of nations .

The promised son was Isaac, born to Abraham when he was 100 . Genesis then tests Abraham through the command to offer Isaac, and the angel of Yahweh stops him before the sacrifice is completed .

Abraham died at 175 and was buried by Isaac and Ishmael in the cave of Machpelah . Matthew begins the genealogy of Jesus by identifying Jesus Christ as son of David and son of Abraham .
