Amon

Amon son of Manasseh became king at 22 and reigned 2 years in Jerusalem 2 Kings 21:19. His mother was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz of Jotbah 2 Kings 21:19.

Amon did evil in Yahweh's sight as Manasseh had done, served the idols his father had served, worshiped them, and abandoned Yahweh 2 Kings 21:20-22. Chronicles adds that he did not humble himself as Manasseh had humbled himself, but increased guilt 2 Chronicles 33:22-23.

His servants conspired against him and killed him in his house, the people of the land killed the conspirators, and they made Josiah his son king in his place 2 Kings 21:23-26. Matthew names Amon between Manasseh and Josiah in the genealogy of Jesus Matthew 1:10.
