Blessings

What the text gives

Deuteronomy 33

Mixed

Moses gives Simeon no blessing; Simeon is simply absent from the Deuteronomy 33 tribal blessings.

Curses and Rebukes

What the text rebukes

Genesis 49

Curse

Jacob joins Simeon with Levi in a rebuke over violent anger and says they will be divided and scattered in Israel.

Territory

Joshua allotment

Simeon's inheritance is described as lying in the middle of Judah's inheritance, so its land is embedded inside the southern territory rather than standing as a separate block beside it.

Joshua names towns such as Beersheba, Moladah, Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem, Ziklag, Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susah, Beth Lebaoth, and Sharuhen, then adds four more towns and their villages.

The passage explains that Judah had more land than it needed, so Simeon received its inheritance from within Judah.

Where It Matters

Simeon was later largely absorbed into Judah, which fits Joshua placing its towns within Judah from the start.

Levitical Cities

Simeon's Levitical cities are counted with Judah's gift to the Levites rather than listed as a separate Simeonite set.
