King
Biography
Ahaziah son of Ahab became king over Israel in Samaria in the 17th year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah and reigned 2 years . He did evil in Yahweh's sight, walked in the way of Ahab and in the way of his mother, and served Baal .
Moab rebelled against Israel after Ahab died . Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber in Samaria and sent messengers to ask Baal zebub of Ekron whether he would recover .
Elijah confronted the messengers and announced that Ahaziah would not come down from the bed to which he had gone up, because he had sought Baal zebub rather than Yahweh . Ahaziah died according to Yahweh's word through Elijah, had no son, and was succeeded by Jehoram .
