Jotham

Jotham son of Uzziah reigned 16 years in Jerusalem during the era of Pekah in Israel 2 Kings 15:32-33. He did what was right in Yahweh's eyes according to what Uzziah had done, though the high places remained 2 Kings 15:34-35.

His building work included the upper gate of Yahweh's house, construction on the wall of Ophel, and cities, forts, and towers in Judah 2 Chronicles 27:3-4. He fought the Ammonites, received tribute from them, and became mighty because he ordered his ways before Yahweh 2 Chronicles 27:5-6.

Pressure from the king of Syria and Pekah began in Jotham's days 2 Kings 15:37. Jotham died and Ahaz his son reigned after him 2 Kings 15:38. Matthew names Jotham between Uzziah and Ahaz in the genealogy of Jesus Matthew 1:9.
