Biography
Zimri was commander of half the chariots under Elah and killed him at Tirzah . He reigned 7 days in Tirzah in the 27th year of Asa king of Judah .
When Israel's army at Gibbethon heard that Zimri had conspired against the king, they made Omri commander of the army king over Israel that day . Omri and Israel besieged Tirzah, and Zimri entered the citadel of the king's house, burned the house over himself, and died because of the sins he committed by walking in the way of Jeroboam I .
