Biography

Ahaziah son of Jehoram reigned 1 year in Jerusalem, with Athaliah named as his mother . Like his father, he walked in the way of Ahab's house and did evil in Yahweh's sight .

He joined Joram son of Ahab in war against the king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead, then went down to Jezreel because Joram had been wounded . Chronicles presents his counselors as coming from Ahab's house and connects that influence with his downfall .

Jehu pursued Ahaziah, who was wounded near Ibleam, fled to Megiddo, and died there . His servants buried him because he was remembered as a descendant of Jehoshaphat, who sought Yahweh .
